LIBRARY SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS
There are three organizations with essentially the same mission – to support the Spring Hill Public Library. The role of each organization is different. One provides administrative and policy support. Two provide advocacy and financial support.
Library Board of Trustees
(LBOT)
The LBOT directs all the affairs of the library along with the library’s director. Together they formulate and enforce the policies of the Spring Hill Public Library. They are responsible for strategic planning and oversight of the library budget, as well as planning for a new building.
Members are appointed by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and serve for a three-year term.

Spring Hill Public Library of Tennessee Foundation, Inc.
(The Foundation)
The Foundation raises funds from multiple sources - private and public - to support the growth of the Spring Hill Public Library and to augment City-provided funds for capital improvements, the biggest of which is a new library building.
There are no voting members of the Foundation. The Foundation is managed by a board of directors which is appointed by the Library Board of Trustees. Directors serve a three-year term.

Friends of the Spring Hill Library
(FOL)
The FOL raises funds to supplement the short-term operating budget of the library at the request of the library’s director, and accepts donations of books and media for resale through quarterly book sales, eBay and periodic pop-up specialty book sales. Additional fund raisers are planned from time to time.
Membership is open to the public. The board members are elected from the general membership and serve for a three-year term.
